Automation Project Engineer reports to the Product Solutions Manager and is responsible for various special automation project including but not limited to the automation cells, turnkey, customized machines, special RFQ projects, special machine interface, special demonstration and the sale support for the customer on such projects through the project management, training, machine programming, problem solving and service of Sodick WEDM, EDM, and Machining Center. Maintain integrity and ethics in all actions and conversations with the customers, the sales managers, the application and the service managers.

• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience required. • Working knowledge of the printed circuit boards and electronic devices required • Working knowledge of PLC and Robot Programming. • Abilities and knowledge to troubleshoot Electrical and Mechanical systems. • Working knowledge of CAD / CAM system, materials, tooling, and end mills required. • Excellent customer service skills, including ability to maintain integrity and ethics in all conversations and actions with customers. • Self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervision and to calmly handle stressful situations when customers complain of equipment malfunctions. • Possess technical curiosity and ability to diagnose and solve production issues. • Detail-oriented and able to get work completed in a manufacturing environment.
